Maryam Asgari

Visiting Professor

Maryam M. Asgari, MD, MPH is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Population Medicine, as well as a board-certified dermatologist, epidemiologist, and Mohs Micrographic surgeon. After obtaining her bachelor’s degrees from Stanford University she completed her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and her Masters in Public Health at the University of Washington. Dr. Asgari is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

She is a physician-scientist trained in Mohs micrographic surgery and a dermato-epidemiologist who works to improve outcomes related to skin cancer with a special focus on skin cancer prevention. Dr. Asgari has been a faculty member in the DPM since 2015. She will continue to use her expertise in pharmacoepidemiology research methods and expertise in analyses of administrative claims datasets to train the next generation of patient-oriented skin disease researchers.
