Mayura Shinde

Research Scientist II

Mayura Shinde, PhD, MPH, is a Research Scientist in the Therapeutics and Infectious Disease Epidemiology group at the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. Dr. Shinde received both her PhD in Epidemiology and Environmental Health and her MPH in Epidemiology from Texas A&M Health Science Center.

As a Doctoral Research Assistant at Texas A&M, her research focused on maternal medication use and dietary history in relation to birth defects, specifically the relation between nitrates, nitrites, nitrosatable drugs and selected birth defects in offspring.  Mayura also researched maternal chemical exposures based on residential proximity to emissions sources of chemicals. Before arriving at the Department of Population Medicine, Mayura worked as a Senior Researcher at HealthCore in Andover, Massachusetts for over two years.
