Maureen Connelly

Maureen T. Connelly, MD, MPH is Dean for Faculty Affairs and Associate Professor of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Connelly received her undergraduate degree from Yale College, her medical degree at Cornell University Medical College, and her master of public health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed residency in internal medicine at the New York Hospital, chief residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and a general internal medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

As Dean for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Connelly's responsibilities include management of junior and senior faculty promotions and appointments at Harvard Medical School, representing the Dean's office on search committee's for senior faculty appointments, providing advice regarding CV preparation and career goals for faculty, and participating in the development of policies related to academic advancement.

Dr. Connelly's research interests have included decision making regarding postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy and strategies for optimizing screening and appropriate treatment for osteoporosis. Her research has also addressed the role of women in academic medicine.

Dr. Connelly previously practiced primary care internal medicine at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates (HVMA). In 1999, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she founded the Harvard Vanguard Menopause Consultation Service at HVMA.

Dr. Connelly lives in the greater Boston area with her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Krane, and their four children.
