Hefei Wen, PhD, joined the faculty of Health Policy and Insurance Research (HPI) after serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health for four years. She holds a doctoral in Health Services Research and Health Policy from Emory University. Dr. Wen was awarded the John D. Thompson Prize for Young Investigator in 2018, one of the most prestigious awards for outstanding junior faculty in Health Services Research.
Dr. Wen is committed to leveraging rigorous quantitative methods to inform health and social policies surrounding the behavioral health issues in the U.S. Her belief in the power of connection and the possibility of redemption is the driving force behind her research commitment. Dr. Wen's recent projects study the implications of opioid regulation, marijuana liberalization, criminal justice reform, Medicaid expansion, and insurance design, for the ongoing drug crisis. “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle,” is her favorite quote and inspires her work and life.
