Joe Hero is a health policy researcher and a Thomas O Pyle Fellow at the Center for Health Care Research in Pediatrics at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. He studies opinions, knowledge and attitudes regarding health and health care and how they affect health care behavior, decision-making and satisfaction. His other areas of study include comparative health systems and health care disparities. His current research focuses on decision-making and satisfaction among vulnerable individuals and families who purchase health insurance on the non-group market. Dr. Hero received his PhD in Health Policy from Harvard University and a Master of Public Health from the Yale School of Public Health.
