Fang Zhang, PhD
Research Focus
Fang Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Medicine. His primary research interests are in developing and applying statistical methods for health services research. His areas of expertise are interrupted time series and difference-in-differences methods for health services and policy research, Bayesian data mining methods in drug safety research, and simulation-based methods in both fields. He has developed methods for estimating the confidence intervals of level and slope changes in interrupted time series analyses, along with methods to estimate power and sample size for interrupted time series studies. His main emphasis is on collaboration with fellow researchers. He is a co-investigator on multiple studies examining the impact of federal, state and regional health policies on diverse populations, utilizing large claim databases. He is also actively engaged in pharmacovigilance and obesity research.
