Ashish Rai

Research Scientist

Ashish Rai, PhD, MSPH, MBBS, is a Research Scientist in the Therapeutics and Infectious Disease Epidemiology group at the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. He works on the FDA-sponsored Sentinel Initiative for drug safety surveillance.

Dr. Rai received his PhD and MSPH in Health Services Research and Health Policy from Emory University, Atlanta and his medical degree from India. Prior to joining the Department of Population Medicine, he was a Principal Scientist with the American Cancer Society, where he conducted research about the patterns and outcomes of cancer care using a variety of data sources including the SEER-Medicare data, Medical Expenditures Panel Survey, and cancer registries.
