Ramesh Lamsal, PhD
Research Focus
Dr. Ramesh Lamsal is a Research Fellow at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute at Department of Population Medicine and Harvard Medical School. I currently serve as a Research Fellow in the Division of Child Health Research and Policy at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. In this role, I am conducting a cost-effectiveness analysis of liquid biopsy (cfDNA) compared with standard care for cancer detection in individuals with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Previously, he was a Preventive Effectiveness Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He holds a PhD in Health Services Research with a specialization in health economics and outcomes research in pediatric and maternal health from the University of Toronto, Canada. His research expertise spans evidence synthesis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and the use of electronic healthcare databases for health services research, with a focus on evaluating pediatric health interventions and their impact on children and their families. Dr. Lamsal also has experience conducting prospective studies, including clinical trials. His overarching research goal is to inform policymakers on cost-effective strategies to improve the well-being of children and families. His methodological work emphasizes measuring, valuing, and incorporating family spillover health effects into economic evaluations of child health interventions.
