COVID-19 Projects

COVID-19 led to profound changes in hospital operations, particularly infection prevention and control activities. This supplemental effort funded by the CDC Epicenters program aimed to assess the impact of COVID-19 on hospital-associated infections (HAIs), clinical decision-making, and quality of patient care to inform new policies to prevent infections and optimize care during future surges. Additionally, building on existing research focused on sepsis epidemiology, this work also aimed to identify and describe sepsis associated with COVD-19 compared to sepsis associated with other respiratory viruses with the goal of informing prevention and treatment strategies.
