Emily Oken, MD, MPH, DPM Professor and Vice-Chair, has received the 2018 Harvard Medical School Harold Amos Faculty Diversity Award. This award was established to recognize and celebrate faculty who have made significant achievements in moving Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine towards being a diverse and inclusive community.
We are pleased to announce that Suhas Gondi, a first year medical student at Harvard Medical School, has been selected to receive the first annual Fletcher Prize in Population Medicine. The Fletcher Prize is awarded by the Department for the best paper on a topic in Population Medicine written by a Harvard Medical School or Harvard School of Dental Medicine student. Papers were judged by an expert panel of DPM faculty. Gondi’s winning submission, “Negotiating Prescription Drug Prices to Improve Access and Reduce Costs”, highlights an important public health problem, high U.S.
The HMS Department of Population Medicine announces a call for submissions for a $1000 prize for the best paper on a topic in Population Medicine written by an HMS or HSDM student. Papers will be judged by an expert panel of DPM faculty, who will be blinded to the authors. The student who submits the most outstanding scholarly paper will be awarded the $1000 prize.
Harvard Medical School has awarded the Department a "Culture of Excellence in Mentoring" award for its program of faculty mentoring and performance review.
